Horror-core, a rather suspect variation of gangsta rap, didn't make the expected waves in the hip-hop world. Gravediggaz, however, are more intelligent than their image conveys. 6 Feet Deep is an all-star effort including Prince Paul, MC Serch, Biz Markie, Masta Ace, and Vernon Reid. Obviously the dominant theme, death is tackled with good results on "Defective Trip" and "1-800 Suicide." Big beats and jazzy samples carry the raps well.
