This somewhat forgettable set has solos and musicianship that are much better than the melodies.
Brian Hughes, who contributed all nine of the songs, is a fusion guitarist from Canada with a lazy style who is in the lead throughout much of the project; keyboardist Anthony Panacci is his co-star.
Hughes' rhythm section is driving and grooving when necessary, but not at all distinctive. The results, although quite musical, are somewhat faceless and a bit dated, with nothing memorable or unusual occurring. All of the musicians would most likely be more creative if given better material. ~ Scott Yanow
