Among the so-called emo crew that was exploding around the time of
Black Lines to Battlefields's release, a dividing line between the heavier groups and the acoustic-based ones erupted. This album seems to attempt to bridge the gap, and
Acceptance embrace melody and singing over dissonance and screaming, yet this ain't
Dashboard Confessional. The songs could be stronger, a reality that is mitigated somewhat by the earnest sweetness that washes over the whole affair, even the bonus live cuts that flesh the EP out nicely. ~ Brian O'Neill
