Blue Day is Robert Scott Thompson's most important CD. It is definitely one of his best efforts, easily one of his most accessible, and it has absolute musical integrity. It also rates as an ambient essential. On this CD, Thompson integrates the best elements from the many genres in which he proliferates. His avant-garde computer music is abundantly present without the dissonant overtones. The ambient minimalism is expansive and deep but not dark.
