Jacques Dutronc's first studio album in almost ten years,
Breves Rencontres was composed with the collaboration of his son
Thomas and produced and arranged by studio wizard
Erdal Kizilcay. It features the hit "À part ça" and combines rock compositions ("L'âme soeur," "Elle m'a rien dit m'a tout dit") with deliciously lyrical pieces ("La pianiste dans une boîte à Gand," "Rappelez-moi de vous oublier"). It also includes the cover of his older hit "Tous les goûts sont dans ma nature" (in duet with
Etienne Daho). The style is Dutronc's usual combination of nonchalance and romanticism, and the lyrics are sharp as always; this makes the album a worthy addition to the body of work of this legendary French musician.
