Originally released as the Prestige albums San Francisco Bay Blues and
Jesse Fuller's Favorites, these 26 sides are fine examples of
Fuller's unique one-man band genius. As if guitar, harmonica, kazoo, and washboard weren't enough to occupy his musicianship, the man also invented the "fotdella," a bass he could play with his feet. Unfortunately, a little of
Fuller goes a long way and two album's worth of similar performances on a single CD ends up being too much of a good thing. ~ Brian Beatty
