Tavinho Moura is specialized in the Brazilian viola - a smaller kind of violão, with 10 metallic doubled strings, specific for the caipira (redneck) repertory, which is practiced with enormous variations in the folklore of each region.
Tavinho, a mineiro (from the Minas Gerais state), really expands the folklore of his region, inserting harmonic/melodic ideas from contemporary imagery, but never losing the tracks of genuine tradition. This album is instrumental and comprises 14 originals. He is helped by several musicians, including the violão virtuose
Nonato Luiz. The music is very direct and communicative, melodically and harmonically simple, but the execution is challenging, poetic and inspired. Attention for the beautiful theme of "Manoelzim da croa." ~ Alvaro Neder
