Els Catarres achieved recognition when their song "Jenifer," a witty, charming tale of the love between a Catalan separatist boy and a Spanish-speaking girl, became a YouTube sensation in the summer of 2011. It was not until the end of the year that their debut album appeared, but all of their songs have been available for free on the group's website, as the self-managed band's members are outspoken defenders of file sharing.
