None would ever accuse British death metal stalwarts
Bolt Thrower of being a singles band, but with U.K. consumers still interested in smaller product configurations (as much for convenient sampling of new acts as for collecting purposes), their label, Earache, saw fit to release several maxi-singles and EPs into the marketplace, along and betwixt their full-length albums. 1991's
Cenotaph EP was one such example, pairing two of the better cuts from the critically acclaimed
Warmaster album, with a rarely heard old number called "Prophet of Hatred" (reveling in its unusually fast-paced drive and crusty execution), and a live recording of their debut album's title track,
Realm of Chaos. For serious collectors only. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
