Though she recorded singles for a variety of labels throughout the '80s, this 1979 outing is
Douglas' last full-length effort to date. Focused on straight-ahead disco tunes, the album is only six songs long, with several hitting the seven-plus minute mark. The results are generally appealing, if nothing remarkable. The vibrant "I Got the Answer" and the catchy title cut are standouts, while the annoyingly repetitive "You Got a Love" and formulaic "Love Sick" don't quite do the trick. The siren is in fine vocal form, sounding coy and sultry on the funky "You Ain't Said Nothing" and quietly soulful on "I Got the Answer."
Come Into My Life is not her most exemplary work, but it's peppy enough to warrant a spot in the collections of disco stalwarts. ~ Justin M. Kantor
