The Dogg Pound Posse, which includes Milton Cheek, aka "Cheeze Dogg," and Cheeko Wells, aka "Chilly Dogg," aren't to be confused with
Snoop Doggy Dogg. These
Doggs work the same lyrical neighborhood as
Snoop, although they don't have a laid-back rap style or
Dr. Dre's production to bolster them. But they do a decent job of presenting standard gangsta rhetoric, ranging from sexist "humor" in "No Mercy 4 A Bitch" to drug wars in "Angel Dust" and self-reflection and confession on "Life I Chose," "How You Like It" and "Speaking The Truth." It's hardly fresh or innovative territory, but fans of the genre will find it competent, if uninspired. ~ Ron Wynn
