The title is an Alberta in-joke, and one of the key tracks on the album is a cover of
the Arrogant Worms' humorous "Last Saskatchewan Pirate." Still,
East of Edson is an album to take a bit more seriously than the debut. The playing is a tighter, there's a less casual, throw-away humor thrown in, and the Celti-fied cover of
The Clash's "London Calling" is actually quite fun. The Inclusion of "Drunken Sailor" and "Lord of the Dance" may be a bit corny, but it works well with the rest of the album. ~ Sean Carruthers
