Besides being his first album since the “King of Ranchera” turned 70, El Hombre Que Más Te Amó marks the first time vocalist Vicente Fernández does double duty as producer. No big surprise, then, that the album focuses on the singer, with the usual brass and lush strings pushed further into the background while Fernández is way, way up front. For many, it will take a bit of getting used to, but longtime fans get the experience of a front-row seat as "El Rey" passionately delivers 12 songs of love, lust, and heartbreak, along with a title track that’s a poignant dedication from father to son.
