Produced in Santa Cruz de la Sierra during seven months of recording sessions, this album achieved gold status within three months in Bolivia, soon climbing charts around Latin America. El Sapo was released in the U.S. in June 2000, after its catchy song, "La Bomba," became a huge success, getting closer to worldwide chart-topping "Macarena." Formerly known as Azul, playing Latin pop and Jamaican reggae, Azul Azul, led by singer/songwriter Fabio Zambrana, combines rock and different Latin rhythms filled with funny lyrics, from modern rock/Bolero "Loco" to Merenhouse "Mujeres," ending with an English-language romantic ballad called "I Believe in You." ~ Drago Bonacich
