ALBUM Explicit

There is some overlap with Labrinth's work for the television series Euphoria -- it contains the Zendaya collaboration version of "All for Us," heard in the finale of the first season -- but Imagination & the Misfit Kid is presented as a distinct work. It's a concept album at that, one about a young artist who exchanges his imagination for success granted by a businessman. This is quite different from Labrinth's preceding album, his 2012 debut, considerably grander yet insular, with Sia the only other featured artist, filling a secondary role on the closing song "Oblivion." The album's highlights beyond "All for Us" include the defiant stomp "Mount Everest" and the undaunted and celebratory dancer "Something's Got to Give."
