Steve Albini was asked to produce this final U.S. release, and it's a screeching and wailing chunk of strum in the manner of their over-the-top debut LP
The Gift of Life. Still, noisy and abrasive as it is, it's fairly tuneful and engaging in its own grubby lo-fi way. As usual, the band buries some of its best stuff amid a wall of sonic rubble, but this time the excavation will lead to the rescue of some excellent stuff.
