Braille was only 17 when he recorded this album, but he sounds much more mature. With his impressive lyrics one would assume he is a hip-hop veteran. Braille doesn't rap about the subjects most people his age rap about. He talks about his relationship with God and his emotions. Braille turned to many producers to make his beats. With production by Celph Titled, Deeskee, DJ Kno, K IV, Sixtoo, and Killani. Having so many different people worked well; it gave Braille a diversity of beats to rhyme over -- from the heavenly production on "Half the Battle" to the creepy "I Am Who I Hate." Overall,
Lifefirst: Half the Battle is a worthwhile album. ~ Dan Gizzi
