In his debut album,
Filó Machado declares his principle: to fight in favor of good music. With total artistic sincerity and musical competence, he didn't have much trouble in conquering an impressive set of collaborators: jazz pianist/composer
Michel Legrand, who shares with
Filó the composition of "Je Viens Te Dire la Verité" and plays/sings in that track; Brazilian myth
Johnny Alf, who also sings in the album; violão Brazilian master
Paulo Bellinati;
Banda Mantiqueira's sax phenomenon Naylor "Proveta" Azevedo; and others.
Machado is a great musician on his own: a superb rhythmical violão/guitar player, he also excels at his hot, swinging singing. Regarding both the compositional material and the musical execution, this is a strong album, with balanced distribution of sung/instrumental tracks.
