As the title indicates, the Bosstones' second album begins to downplay their ska influences in favor of punk and hard rock. The songwriting slipped a bit, a problem that would plague the band throughout its early career, when they concentrated more on touring than crafting records in the studio. Nevertheless, there are enough good moments here to make it worthwhile for fans of the group's party-hearty, so-called "plaid" sound. ~ Steve Huey
