Although his super meticulous productions have been attracting millions of views for nearly six years now, French musician Worakls is only now releasing his first long format album. A melodic techno/house poet like N’To and Joachim Pastor, with which he founded the Hungry Music electronic label in 2013, Kevin Rodrigues is not changing his modus operandi for this album, which opens with the loop of melancholic synths of Nikki, similar to previous hits Bleu and Salzburg. A former conservatory student, where he studied the piano, Worakls admits to “almost only listening to film or classical music”, extracting their emotiveness and juxtaposing them with the power of electronic music. A concept that is apparent with the violin/house trip Caprice, whereas Entrudo is darker and more club-oriented and Cloches leans more towards trance. An album which should allow Worakls to infiltrate all the ‘chill’ playlists of the Internet. © Smaël Bouaici/Qobuz
