The new album by the ever-prolific
Peter Mergener deals with the conflicts of man and his technology versus nature. The first track represents nature calling, but most men are not listening. Tracks 2 through 5 represent the mechanized unnatural world of man that is profit driven. Tracks 6 to 8 cover the life beat of nature via peace, harmony, and the appreciation of the passage of time; as opposed to the grinding clock driven civilization of man. Track 2, "Passage In Time," and track 3, "Mechanical World" sound like the sequenced music of Klaus Schulze from the 70's. The nature segments are softer in tone although still having the sequenced rhythms to represent time passage in nature. The first 2/3rds of the album shows how man is out of step with nature. The latter third musically represents nature. What is not answered is how man finds his way back to nature. Overall this is a good concept album with excellent music. It is worth a listen.
