One year after her covers album of Latin American songwriters,
Dos Gardenias, former
Presuntos Implicados vocalist
Sole Giménez turns her attention to her native Spain with
Pequeñas Cosas. Still, she does it with an original Latin jazz twist, displacing classics of Spanish popular music such as "Soy Rebelde" or "Calle Melancolía," taking them into the realms of the bolero, son, swing, and samba.
Pequeñas Cosas features songs by
Joan Manuel Serrat (who also appears on the title track),
Joaquín Sabina,
Alejandro Sanz,
Kiko Veneno,
Jeanette,
Chambao, and a couple by
Sole Giménez herself. ~ Mariano Prunes
