The group's second full-length album finds
Miranda Sex Garden going in a rock direction. Loud guitars and pounding drums mix with droning cellos and sawing violins on songs such as "Open Eyes." Even the group's vocal style is more pungent and aggressive, with the heretofore dulcet tones of the group now transformed into wild, banshee-like shrieks and snarls. Despite the radical changes in direction, the group still manages to create a powerful and individual album in
Suspiria. Along with
Madra, it's one of the group's best efforts. ~ Heather Phares
