The Battle of Electricity by The Gerbils - VitaMusik

The Elephant 6 Collective's resident horn section and chamber orchestra, aka the band with that guy with the weird chin-wig (Scott Spillane), released this challenging, multilayered pop album in 2001, and Orange Twin wisely reissued it in 2006 with greater distribution. The album--which comprises ten proper songs and eight untitled interstitial musical happenings--didn't get a great deal of attention the first time around, but certainly stands up against any other recording by their fellow Athens, Georgia, musical friends, and deserves a wider audience.
