Though he would later deliver more polished and accomplished effort,
David Wilcox's independent debut
Nightshift was full of promise. Even at this early stage,
Wilcox had a firm grasp of his acoutic guitar style and his songs were beginning to flower -- "Daddy's Money" is as good as would ever get. Sure, there are a few rough spots on the album, but that just adds to its charm, especially in retrospect.
