Setting fire to the landscape, Texan metalcore outfit Fit for a King take a scorched approach to their brutal sixth set, The Path. Amplifying their aggressive, faith-fueled sound, the band are defiant in the face of temptation and evil, going on the offense with rousing anthems like "Breaking the Mirror" and "Locked (In My Head)." The muscular title track is a rallying cry, where vocalist Ryan Kirby cries, "If you're broken, if you're bleeding/If you're dying for somebody to believe in" before encouraging listeners with a comforting promise that they'll "find the path...out of hell." Outside of standard heavy fare like the standout "Stockholm," FFAK also adds some industrial-electro flair -- courtesy of Ryo Kinoshita -- on the highlight "God of Fire." Combined, The Path devastates with its power, offering fans of faith a proper outlet for their angst.
