This is the debut recording of the Scottish neo-prog band Pallas. It was produced by Eddie Offord, which, rather than working to the band's advantage, became a controversy leading the band to accuse Offord of rushing through the session. The band took it upon themselves to re-master the original tapes without Offord. The band's approach is a derivative of influences such as Genesis, Pink Floyd, Rush, IQ, and, most obviously, Marillion. The lyrics are based upon Cold War themes wrapped in an Atlantis metaphor. The longer songs are well developed, but tend to be repetitious, while the shorter songs are standard rock fare, dominated by the keyboard/synthesizer work of Ronald Brown. Fans of '80s neo-prog recognize this recording as being of historical importance, which has lead to a re-release on CD with additional tracks and a multimedia section of photos and live footage.
