Although it boggles the mind a bit to think this was recorded in the same year (1967) that
the Beatles unleashed
Sgt. Pepper's, this is actually one of
Lynn's strongest and most characteristic early efforts. The title song, one of
Lynn's many watch-where-you-park-it-sister anthems, has of course become a classic. There are also some great cry-in-your-beer weepies ("The Darkest Day"), tales of domestic drudgery ("Tippy Toeing"), and a surprisingly convincing cover of
Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." ~ Rovi Staff
