Just like most albums of the
Acústico MTV series, this is a pretty straightforward greatest-hits round up. The 20 years of existence of
Engenheiros do Hawaii is summed up in 18 tracks, among them early hits like "Infinita Highway," from 1987, as well as more recent tracks such as "Até o Fim," from 2003. There are no real surprises, but the acoustic format actually lends a fresh atmosphere to several of the tracks and a string quartet accompanies the band on "Vida Real," "Surfando Karmas e DNA," and "Dom Quixote."
Humberto Gessinger, the blonde front figure of the band, is in fine form and the production is flawless. For anyone interested in the music of
Engenheiros do Hawaii, this is a very good CD, as it contains nice live versions of the group's most essential work. ~ Philip Jandovský
