Released in 2005,
Até Onde Vai above all contains a glimmering version of
Roberto Carlos' old hit "Além do Horizonte." Transformed by
Jota Quest into a modern, electronic rock song, it turned out to be a very well-deserved smash hit for the group in Brazil. The song is also an excellent example of what
Jota Quest is really capable of, with strong material to work with. The other tracks on the album, although well produced and competently performed, never reach the heights of "Além do Horizonte." True to the style that has rendered
Jota Quest the status as one of the best-selling bands of Brazil, the tracks (apart from "Além do Horizonte") on
Até Onde Vai consist of soul- and pop-inspired rock and some more straight rock songs, similar to the standard material of the likes of
INXS and Bryan Adams. Compared to the earlier albums of the group, probably reluctant to change a winning formula, there is little difference or evolution to be noted. ~ Philip Jandovský
