A more sophisticated sound is the first impression to hit the listener. The naïve adolescent pop sound of
Kid Abelha receives the skilled, dissonant vibraphone contributions by
Jota Moraes already in the opening track, which also announces world percussive sonorities. The exceptional
Egberto Gismonti lends his talents for the pop group in two exquisite and lyrical tracks, "Minas-São Paulo" and "Taças," playing the piano and writing string arrangements (which are conducted by Jaques Morelenbaum). The result obtained in Paula's vocal interpretations are the best ever. More erudite references (now frankly disastrous) are found in the pretentious "Ouvir Estrelas" over an adaptation of Olavo Bilac's poem Ora Direis, Ouvir Estrelas. Disco music is found in "Someday" and
Air influences in "Tambaú." A pop album with the hand of producer
Memê showing in the lounge music and drum'n'bass influences, but with wonderful touches of highly skilled musicians drawing a more ambitious outlook. The album's graphic project was awarded with the APCA prize. ~ Alvaro Neder
