The Wildhearts were so unbelievably prolific during their troubled career that any greatest-hits set is bound to be flawed or criticized by their serious fans but, by the same token, this very abundance of quality material almost guarantees that casual listeners will get a good sampling of the band from
The Best of the Wildhearts. All of the band's most successful singles ("I Wanna Go Where the People Go," "TV Tan," "Just in Lust") are included, along with a smattering of equally excellent B-sides ("29 X the Pain," "Geordie in Wonderland," "If Life is Like a Love Bank, I Want an Overdraft"). Still, for an even more complete introduction to the band (and the Wildhearts are worth it), look for the two-disk Japanese edition. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
