Influenced by artists as diverse as
Nick Drake,
Jay-Z, and
Led Zeppelin,
Ein Geschenkter Tag is the second solo album from
Freundeskreis founding member
Max Herre. Backed by his own four-piece band, the Samon Kawamure-produced LP eschews the hip-hop influences of his debut in favor of a soulful and acoustic singer/songwriter vibe. Featuring contributions from several of his Nesola labe-mates, the 2009 release includes the singles "Geschenkter Tag," "Blick Nach Vorn," and "Scherben" alongside a cover version of
Udo Lindenberg's "Wir Wollen Doch Einfach Nur Zusammen Sein."
