Fly Eyes, the American debut album (and third overall) for the German metal band H-Blockx, is an odd blend of funky rap-metal (think
Red Hot Chili Peppers as much as
Korn) with traditional melodic metal, even featuring an '80s-style power ballad on occasion. It's not as awkward as it sounds, since the group has had several albums to master their style, and while it is aggressive, it isn't cartoonishly testosterone overloaded. That said, it may not be quite heavy enough for some '90s metal fans, but others may find it much to their liking.
