An impressive record full of aggressive energy,
Immediate Action helped define the early Chicago punk rock movement. Functioning within the rock structure of rhythm and lead guitar, uniquely minimal guitar melodies are placed next to bass and percussion breaks on the first track "Closing In." "Elephant's Graveyard," which was later reissued on the Wax Trax compilation Black Box, features an amazing rough vocal delivery that is one of the highlights of the record, while tension/release is used to striking effect on "Sunday Night Disorientation." Sadly, this was the only release for
Strike Under along with their contributions to the Busted Aa Oz compilation.
Immediate Action was the first release for the famous Wax Trax! label and is an integral document to the history of punk rock in Chicago.
