Like
the Who with Tommy,
King Diamond decided to perform their rock opera Abigail in concert in its entirety. One of those occasions was captured on In Concert 1987: Abigail. Unlike
the Who,
King Diamond weren't a particularly gifted live band; they were very loud, and there were some fine technical moments, but it didn't all come together. In fact, Abigail actually sounds weaker in its concert incarnation than it does in the studio, which means that this disc is only of interest to the most dedicated fan.
