Tenor saxophonist
Warne Marsh put together this album in Copenhagen on April 21, 1980 with pianist
Kenny Drew, bassist
Bo Stief, and drummer Aage Tanggaard. A superb intuitive improviser who came up under the influence of
Lennie Tristano, collaborated with
Lee Konitz, and had a profound and lasting influence on
Anthony Braxton,
Marsh stretches out across a few ballads, revisits a number of modern jazz standards, and presents one lively original composition. This is a reissue of Storyville (#8277),
I Got a Good One for You, released in April 2000. ~ arwulf arwulf
