Heard's solo debut (of a sort) blends essential club tracks like "Closer," "On My Way" and "What About This Love" with material more in keeping with his producer mentality and rock background. Selections like "On a Corner Called Jazz," "Waves Against the Shore" and "We Can Work It Out" provide
Heard with a chance to stretch out into intriguing jazzy house. The differences between individual tracks are somewhat slight, and most of the album clocks in at an easy-going mid-tempo gait. While it's a bit over-polished, and there are a few too many vocal tracks (delivered in essentially the same style),
Introduction is a fine album. ~ John Bush
