Anastacia's fifth studio album, released four years after 2008's
Heavy Rotation, is a collection of ten rock covers: aided by producer
Glen Ballard, the singer (who refers to herself as a "sprock chick" -- a "soul/pop/rock chick") tackles classics such as
Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On,"
Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine,"
Oasis' "Wonderwall,"
AC/DC's "Back in Black,"
Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," and
the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want."
It's a Man's World (the title of the album refers to the fact that all ten songs were originally sung by men) charted at number 16 in Germany and Switzerland and number 14 in Austria. ~ Christian Genzel
