Spanish vocalist
Niña Pastori's sixth album,
Joyas Prestadas (2007) is a chart-topping collection of cover songs. Several of the covers are internationally well known, like the album-opening classics "Burbujas de Amor" (
Juan Luis Guerra, a tropical vocalist from the Dominican Republic) and "Vivir Sin Aire" (
Maná, a rock band from Mexico). Others are more specific to Spain, like "Mediterráneo" (
Joan Manuel Serrat), "Cuando Nadie Me Ve" (
Alejandro Sanz), and "Hoy Igual Que Ayer" (
Los Chicos). ~ Jason Birchmeier
