Dave East's second release of 2018 is
Karma 2, a
DJ Holiday-assisted mixtape meant as a sequel to late 2017's
Karma. The mixtape's 19 tracks feature production that leans closer to trap than many of
East's previous releases, but his strong lyrical skills are far more informed by his '90s hardcore rap influences.
Karma 2 includes guest appearances from
Fabolous,
Lil Durk,
Gunna, and others. The release reached the Top 50 of the Billboard 200 upon its arrival in July 2018.
