Being Canadian and eager to show off their bilingualism,
Immaculate Machine released an EP of six of their songs from their 2005 album, Ones and Zeroes, entitled
Les Uns Mais Pas les Autres. The instrumentals for each of the pieces are identical to those found on the full-length, as are the vocal arrangements; the only thing that's changed is the language itself, because
Immaculate Machine have translated their lyrics into French, which are also included in the liner notes. It's more of a novelty than anything else, but it sounds pretty good, North American indie rock in a language besides English, and it represents the overall sound of the band well, with both their softer ("Sans Issue," or "No Way Out") and louder ("Ne Pars Pas Sans Nous," or "Don't Leave Without Us") sides covered. Certainly not a replacement for either of their records, but pretty fun nonetheless. ~ Marisa Brown
