While
the BossHoss from Berlin, Germany rose to fame with country covers of songs by artists such as
Britney Spears,
OutKast, and
the Beastie Boys, they moved into rock & roll territory (with elements of country and metal) with their own songs on later records.
Liberty of Action, their sixth studio album, reduces the heavy elements that were present on 2009's
Do or Die and offers a number of rockabilly-influenced rock songs such as the first single, "Don't Gimme That," which entered the German singles charts at number eight. Pop veteran
Nena guests on "L.O.V.E.," a cover of the
Bert Kaempfert song made famous by
Nat King Cole, while
Reamonn singer
Rea Garvey appears on "Run Run Devil."
Liberty of Action entered the German charts at number four.
