One of several
Troggs collections entitled Love Is All Around, K-Tel's 1995 release bundles a healthy array of early works originally issued on the albums From Nowhere, Trogglodynamite, Cellophane, and Mixed Bag, with "Walking the Dog" from the Trogg Tapes of 1976 and "What You Doin' Here," "Maximum Overdrive," and "Disco Kid" (full title "The Disco Kid Versus Sid Chicane"), first released on the 1989 album Au and issued as singles in 1998. Unlike various other collections that focus mainly upon the Black Bottom album of 1981, this bracing blast of vintage British rock leaves room for the very best early triumphs ("Wild Thing," "From Home" "With a Girl Like You," "I Can't Control Myself," "Give It to Me," and "Cousin Jane"). For this reason, even though other, more complete anthologies take a more detailed approach, many of the essential tunes are aboard, and the "Disco Kid" number is a hoot. ~ arwulf arwulf
