The second mixtape from Brooklyn rapper Sheff G,
One and Only continues the up-and-comer's streak of varied and thoroughly compelling rap. Continuing to move away from his drill roots in favor of trap, the rapper's second set is a smoother, more reflective set than 2019's The Unluccy Luccy Kid, pulling from earlier tracks like "Flows" and "Emotionless" for its laid-back, emotive style. There's still plenty here for Sheff traditionalists, like a sequel to drill classic "No Suburban" arrives in lethal diss track "No Suburban, Pt. 2." With production almost entirely at the hands of close collaborator Great John, the album saw release in May of 2020. ~ David Crone
