Rebirth proves a most appropriate appellation for this latest incarnation of the influential project which saw the late Oberdan Magalhães and trumpeter Jose Carlos Barroso fusing traditional Brazilian music with the funk and jazz of North America through the late '70s, recording three respected albums before disbanding in 1980.
