This is the first solo album released by
Daniel Gonzaga (son of
Gonzaguinha and grandson of
Luiz Gonzaga) at 21, with originals and a couple of songs by his father and grandfather. Displaying a broad range of styles (pop ballads, funk, baião, rock, embolada, frevo, and even an a cappella rendition),
Daniel presents himself as a pleasurable surprise. When one expects another novice trying to get a hike in the fame of his father, he evidences a truly talent for lyric writing and a genuine respect for good music, almost independent from marketable trends. Several lyrics produce a considerable impact, and the baião "Galope" and the embolada-rock "Os Olhos Por Debaixo da Batina Do Papa" also deserve mention for the appealing music. ~ Alvaro Neder
