The Nerve Agents bring to the listeners a classic collection of what heavy raucous music is supposed to sound like. Playing independent garage-like rock & roll in the midst of amplifiers and drums cranked to full blast,
The Butterfly Collection is a perfect example of how to perform music loud and with a cathartic, angst-ridden feel. Biting and aggressive, this group soars through a group of tunes with power and might, revealing the rough edges of a young and exuberant band. With momentous beats and distortion-laden guitar riffs, this is a proud example of some of the best in independent hardcore rock. Though their lyrical messages are strong and touch on meaningful and often memorable subjects, such as violence and war, much of the wordage is just jargon and out of decipherable context. Still, the sometimes confusing lyrics fail to diminish or take away the pertinent meat of the record, the groove- and rock-laden sound the band so gracefully unveils. ~ Shawn M. Haney
