The hustle has indeed continued for
Juicy J, who at the tail end of the 2010s -- his third decade of activity -- racked up a couple big collaborative hits with
Rae Sremmurd's "Powerglide" and
Megan Thee Stallion's "Hot Girl Summer." This album, his fifth proper full-length solo release and first of the 2020s, is true to its title, offering slight variations on the sly baller themes and prowling sound for which he's known. In addition to expected guests such as
Project Pat and
Wiz Khalifa, the collaborations tend to resume past affiliations, with the likes of
Logic,
Megan Thee Stallion,
Ty Dolla $ign, and
2 Chainz also present. The shrewdest link with the younger generation, the
NLE Choppa-assisted "Load It Up," is a triumph. ~ Andy Kellman
