Time Has Come marks the solo debut for
Cassie Ramone, longtime lead singer of noise pop trio
Vivian Girls. Though
Ramone stayed active as part of indie roots collaborative band
the Babies while
Vivian Girls were in prolonged hiatus, as well as after they disbanded, the eight tracks on
Time Has Come lean much closer to dour, shadowy bedroom folk than the often upbeat rambling rock of
the Babies or
Vivian Girls' C-86 revivalism. Home-recorded in various living spaces in New York and Los Angeles, most tunes find
Ramone's nasal voice accompanied only by walls of reverb-heavy guitar, though
Ariel Pink shows up to play bass on several tunes. ~ Fred Thomas
